New to blogging

I'm new at blogging, so take it easy on me if I mess up. I love all of the decorating blog sites that is out there, such fantastic eye candy!!!!!!! It makes me slobber, oh let me get a napkin to wipe my mouth, there that is better.
I have a very large cloche bell jar that my mother gave me. She is 94 years old and has had the jar for ever. It is 18in. tall, and 12in. wide, with a 1in. lip and 1/2 in. thick. I believe the jar was hand blown, and from the late 18 hundreds. The glass knob on top shows where it was cut away from the glass blowers pipe. It doesn't have any cracks or chips on it, but, the glass is not clear as newer bell jars are. My question is, is anyone of you an expert in these jars? I noticed that there is a cloche bell jar party or something like it on one of the sites I was looking at. I googled my jar but there wasn't a lot of info. on it. Let me know what you think about my jar.
Thank you for reading this blog. I will be putting up some pictures of my decor, when I figure out how to do that. Great at decorating, not so good at computers. LOL

  1. Hi Cindy. I'm fairly new to blogging as well. When you take a pic of something you want to post, save it to your hard drive in a folder. Then when you go to make a new post on your blog, there will be a picture icon in the task bar where the font size, spell check etc. is located. Click on that and then click browse and upload your pic that you want to post from the folder on your hard drive. Play around with it like I do. You can always delete something. Hope this helps. Have fun and enjoy the world of blogging. I do! And I see we follow some of the same blogs.!Ames

  2. Great advice on how to load a picture. Now as far as the bell jar is concerned. If it is a very old one it has either colored from the sun or it was tinted glass to begin with. Some of the really old ones are either a green tint or a purple tint. They were originally used in the garden to keep tiny plants warm in the winter, much like a greenhouse. They got the light through the glass and the warmth it generated. If you post a picture of it then maybe I can help you more.
Thanks also for your visit to my blog. I look forward to yours and can't wait to see your cloche and your decorations. I signed up to follow, so I will be back. Hugs, Marty

  3. Cindy,
Welcome to Blog Land it’s a lot of fun and you’re off to a great start. Wow, it’s wonderful you have such a treasure from your mother. I hope you figure out how to post photos so you can display it. We were all we new once and you will figure it out quickly. If I can help feel free to ask me. If you join a few blog parties will meet new friends quickly.
Thank you for you words of encouragement for my daughter. They mean a lot. I’m still pinching myself my daughter’s donor is a blogger’s husband. We had over 25 friends and family step forward to try to donate but none were Heather’s blood type so I ran the story on my blog. We are extremely thankful and feel blessed by this wonderful family.
    Hugs, Cathy

    P.S. sorry for the delete...typo!
